PRESS is supporting Fallen Rhymes.
So far we have helped produce a short video promo and created a music video for one of their releases, ‘Full Moon’, by Ukrainian band, ‘ Anderson inspired by a poem written by Igor Mitrov who is a Revolution of Dignity and Euromaidan activist, literary critic and writer who has ben serving with the 95th Air Assault Brigade since March 2022. PRESS is also seeking supporting partnerships to help the Fallen Rhymes project produce more music videos from music tracks that they have yet to release.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainians have identified with their own history more deeply than ever before. Resistance is not only fought on the battlefield. It is also built through countless bonds between civilians and soldiers. Fallen Rhymes is one of those bonds.
Born from a conversation with Ukrainian soldier, poet, and essayist Vitaly Sladky, callsign SUGAR, the project uses original music to give greater visibility to the poetry of Ukrainian soldiers.
It is built on one belief: that poetry can bridge the distance between the front line and civilian life — not by explaining war, but by allowing people to feel it.
Because many soldiers cannot read their own poems aloud, Fallen Rhymes transforms frontline poetry into song.
The first wave includes the poetry of Maksym Kryvtsov, Valeriy Puzik, Petro Maga, Anatoliy Anatoliy, Dmytro Lazutkin, Oleksandr Lysak, and Ihor Mitrov, brought into music by Mad Heads, Molodsha, Mnishek, Helen Burton & Anna Shpilevska, TaRuTa, Ocheretyany Kit, Angy Kreida, and The Anderson.
